Full of confidence and bringing with me my luggage and just myself full of hopes and a lot of prayers… I treated the country as my 2nd home.

In the past years since then, I can say that I was successful. And I am grateful. I’ve meet new friends, landed on a good company that enabled me to be a better person both on my career and personal life. I have learned how to overcome obstructions and stress.
When we had Baby James into our lives, I realized that no amount of money can replace the time lost spent with my kids. It made me realize – is it worth it? Is there anywhere in this planet where I can work and spend quality time with my kids? There will come a time in your life when you feel you had enough. When you feel like dragging yourself to work, going home tired and restless. Reflect and think if this is the same routing you want to do for the rest of your lives.

Thus, we have taken the risk of leaving Singapore this time. Taking nothing with us but prayers- confidence and new hopes as we plan to have better life for the family and kids.

Being away from home for 5133.1 miles and travel time more than 11 hrs. We are now 5 hours ahead of time from the Philippines. What are the things we need to adjust on? Being on this country for the last 7 weeks, below are my observation:

1. LAMIG.

2. NO YAYA- Don’t worry! Being used to having someone to do house chores while I only focus on how to earn money – this is one of the biggest adjustment I need to face. Thanks to my hubby – who helped out big time on house hold works. Laba, luto, linis, alaga ng bata, puyat, mamalengke, etc.. Lahat na. Darna!

3. DOWNGRADE. Sabi nga, great position and great career comes with great responsibility. When we migrated, tinanggap ko na bababa ang sweldo at position ko. But this means, lesser responsibilities and more time with the family.

4. RIGHT HAND DRIVE - Kelangan matuto mag drive ng right hand drive na kotse. Done deal! Na-overcome ko na to! Yippee! J

5. LESSER TRIP TO PINAS. Kung noon, kayang umuwi almost every quarter, with the cost of airfare on this side of the planet, hindi carry na gawing divisoria ang Pinas.

6. SCHOOL FEES - Cheaper school fees for the kids. Yey!

7. EXPENSIVE GROCERIES - more expensive groceries here compare to SG – mas mahal ata lahat dito maliban sa Milk, cheese, lamb and beef. All the rest, I think mas mahal lahat dito!

8. RESET. We’ve got no family nor friends here. Totally ground zero. We need to build our network again and find new friends in our new journey.

9. BIGGER HOUSE – unlike SG, we have no backyard nor lawn to mown. Here, we need to allot a weekend to mow the lawn. We got space for the kids to run around.

10. SUNLIGHT. Until 9pm. Gabi na may araw pa! ha ha ha!
I may have more to say in the next couple of weeks or months or so. The last 7 weeks has been life changing. I am blessed and I am very thankful that after 5 weeks, I already have an employer who trusted my skills. I got great colleagues, all ready to lend a helping hand to a new immigrant like me. NAKATSAMBA na naman! Ha ha ha!

Lahat ng tao mabait, nakangiti, willing to lend a hand, willing to help. It’s amazing that for the last 7 weeks, wala pa akong nakikitang tao na nagrereklamo or galit! Ha ha ha.. Ang babait nilang lahat!

I thank our families who supported us financially and emotionally on this new endeavour. Team Lauron, Loninia, Bello, Brown... Salamat!

Lastly, To those asking me how to go here and what it’s like. It all depends on what you want and what you need to achieve. Like anywhere else, to migrate to another country- you need support and money. Magbasa, magresearch, magtanong, at wag ma-paralyze kaka-analyze! Lay your priorities, know where you want to be. Feel free to ask and I'd be happy to be an inspiration and help out in any way I can.

Remember, Life is a risk. We either win or lose. When we made this decision… There’s no turning back and loosing is not an option. We thank God for the guidance and continuously blessing us. We bring all glory to your name! Amen!
